Hey Reader,
I don't know what was going on this summer, but man, there were a lot of updates for WordPress. Update WordPress Core, update this plugin, update Core again, update another plugin... some weeks it was three separate times. My team and I have been busy keeping all our clients' sites up to date.
And that's fine, it's part of what we do. But it did make me wonder: have you looked at yours lately?
Because here's the thing, Reader. A lot of those updates aren't really optional. They're security patches. Someone finds a weak spot in a plugin, the makers close it, and the update is how that fix reaches your site. Leave it, and the weak spot just sits there, leaving your website exposed.
So it's worth a look. WordPress shows you what's waiting right there in the dashboard: WordPress itself, your theme, your plugins.
But I know the reason a lot of people quietly avoid the whole thing is that they are afraid that hitting "update everything" without knowing what they're doing will break their site. One plugin updates, clashes with another, and suddenly a page looks wrong or a form stops sending. That fear of breaking something is usually what keeps people from updating at all, which is how they end up months behind.
So if you'd like a hand with this, here's what I'd suggest. Let me audit it first.
For €99, I go through your site and send you back a short report: what's out of date, what's slow, and what to update first so nothing breaks. From there, you can do the updates yourself with a clear map, or hand the doing to us. Either way, no more guessing, and no more crossed fingers every time you hit update.
If you'd like one, just hit reply and say the word.
And if you're not there yet, no problem. But do me a favour and go look at your WordPress updates this week. I'd like your site to stay safe.
