Hey Reader,
First, a little life update. On 2 October, my partner and I registered our partnership. We kept it small and didn’t make too big a deal out of it. We dressed up nicely and had a little party with about twenty family and friends. I’ll be honest, I felt a bit awkward at times, because I really don’t like being the centre of attention. But it was nice, and I’m glad we did it.
Now, onto Kit.
Kit has just opened its new automation builder as an open beta. I tested it in earlier phases, so I’ve already had the chance to build with it. And I really like it.
It’s much more drag-and-drop. You can pick up a step and move it backwards or forwards in your flow. If you’ve ever wanted to change the order of something in an existing automation, you’ll know why that makes me happy.
You can edit while the automation stays live. This is the part I’m most excited about. You can work on changes while the current version keeps running for the people already moving through it.
That second one matters more than it sounds. A lot of automations stay untouched for years, not because they still work perfectly, but because changing them feels risky. When you can edit without pulling the plug on the live version, improving it stops being a scary job.
So I’d love to hear from you, Reader. What do you want to know about the new builder? Maybe you’re wondering whether to switch, what happens to your existing automations, or whether it’s worth looking at at all yet. Whatever it is, hit reply and tell me.
I’m writing a blog post about it, and I’d rather answer your questions than guess at them.
And whether you try it this week or next year, it’s a good moment to look at the automations you already have. You don’t need to rebuild anything. Just know what’s running, and whether it still matches how your business works today.
